Shannon Denise Bobbitt

Herstory
IN THE MAKING

Shannon is a 5-foot 2 lady giant, with a heart the size of the Grand Canyon. Bobbitt has been New York City and state champion twice over. She’s also a junior college “All American”, “Player of The Year” and “Hall of Fame” inductee.  Shannon’s a two-time NCAA National Champion at the University of Tennessee where she was coached under the legendary late and great, Pat Summitt.  Following her time as Volunteer, Bobbitt was selected 15th in the 2008 WNBA draft. Her story is meant to inspire, motivate and give hope to all the young people in the world.  There is a giant inside of all of us.

Being the third youngest of eight children, Bobbitt accepted the heroic challenge of making a better life for herself and her family. Starting at a very young age, and throughout her entire life, Shannon’s been faced with life changing obstacles that could have broken any human being physically and emotionally. She beat the odds and became a successful black woman despite her surroundings. She rose up from her rough surroundings growing up in New York City and became a star in her own way.  Her passion and love for the game of basketball helped her mature and grow into a talented player and leader. After overcoming critics, doubters and non-supporters, Bobbitt showed that pressure continues to make diamonds and that dreams are worth chasing.

One of my goals is to give back to young kids in a major way. I hope to infuse the children in the community by being an example of how they too can fulfill their dreams and desires by setting goals, being persistent and never giving up.

Through my camps and in my training sessions I want to push those I interact with to go above and beyond what they think they're capable of.

If I can help just one person, then my journey was worth it, even more!

The programs offered are focused on providing a positive and structured environment for everyone involved.

The Shannon Bobbitt Basketball Clinic teaches life skills such as: communication, discipline, responsibilities, patience, accountability, perseverance, confidence and much more.
